Where You Should Be Staying in Mexico

Mexico is one of my favorite destinations. I’ve been traveling there since I was a kid, and was probably my first trip out of the country. My love for Mexico started when my grandma had a house in Rosarito. We would drive down and spend out time on the beach and eating lobster tacos. I couldn’t think of a way I’d rather spend my time. That love for Mexico flourished into me checking out every resort in Cabo and Puerto Vallarta.

I have rounded up my favorite options just for you:

Zadun, A Ritz Carlton Reserve

I recently experienced for Zadun for the first time this past January and I haven’t looked back since. I was beyond excited to try the hotel and they delivered. Rated in the top 20 best resorts in the world by Conde Nast Traveler, this is one resort you need to experience for yourself. Zadun is the most recently luxury edition to Cabo, following Montage & Four Seasons. Zadun clearly showed that the bar can always be raised in an area where every top hotel brand in the world is represented. The staff consistently goes above and beyond to remember your breakfast order, how you take your coffee and have your favorite chaise lounge set up for you when you’re ready. If you want to feel like the star that you are, Zadun is the place for you.

One and Only Mandarina

Do you want to feel like you’re in Bali, without the 20 hour trek of going to Bali? One and Only Mandarina is the destination for you. Located on the beach but amongst the rainforest, One and Only Mandarina features stunning treehouses, each with their own private plunge pool. Located an hour north of Puerto Vallarta, you will be met by your butler on arrival and whisked away to experience the many offerings of the hotel. Relax at the beach club, experience world class surfing, hike in the jungle, or enjoy the polo & equestrian club where you can take a trail ride to a stunning waterfall.

Las Ventanas Al Paraiso, A Rosewood Resort

Las Ventanas has a following and I would go as far to say that Las Ventanas set the standard for luxury in Cabo. The Mexican-Mediterranean style hotel blends seamlessly into the desert landscape. Enjoy your 24/7 butler who is there to coordinate spa treatments, book dinner reservations, unpack your clothes and quite frankly, anything you ask.

Four Seasons Punta Mita

The hotel that put Punta Mita on the map is still one of my absolute favorites. Located an hour west of Puerto Vallarta, the Four Seasons Punta Mita is located in a gated private peninsula. There is something for everyone here at the Four Seasons - including 2 Jack Nicklaus Golf Courses, a large private beach, multiple swimming pools and even a lazy river. Don’t skip out on “catch of the day”, where the fisherman will bring in their freshly caught fish and you can choose a fish that the chef will prepare for lunch.
